Six Sigma
ZMD was re-certified for the environmental standard DIN ISO 14001 in 2004. Furthermore, the extensive quality certification of the automobile industry, ISO/TS 16949:2002 was also successfully attained for all German and American locations of the ZMD group.
In addition to this, “Six Sigma” was successfully launched: A company-wide initiative to improve processes and efficiency. Over the course of the next three years, 300 ZMD employees will be trained as so-called green and yellow belts and by 2009 around 600 green, yellow and black belts will have been trained. This training constitutes a fundamental rung of the career ladder at ZMD.
